VIVIERS

Introducing VIVIERS, a concept apparel line that can be customised and comes in limited edition numbers. Lezanne Viviers founded VIVIERS, which provides a distinctive approach to creating a wardrobe. On April 11th, 2019, the company had a showcase at Lotus House, a by-appointment studio that also serves as a concept store and sells a variety of items. VIVIERS honours the senses and uniqueness. At the VIVIERS Studio in Johannesburg, artisans create collections that capture the essence of the city while aiming to redefine luxury. Clothing is made with enthusiasm with the intention of letting the wearer express their radical selves. We take pride in using sustainable practises. They hand-cut each piece of clothing one at a time, reusing off-cuts to create new Edition 1/1 goods like "Dead Stock" textiles, all in an effort to reduce textile waste.

The majority of our fabrics are sourced from warehouses that have dead stock from the 1970s sitting in them. These vintage fabrics were produced ethically and were not a part of the modern, consumer-driven, fashion business. The textiles are of high quality and are long-lasting. These serve as the framework for the documents they subsequently print or update.

VIVIERS is open and honest. Since everything is made in-house, the tailors and artisans write their names on each piece of apparel they create out of pride and ownership for the people who made them. The working environment is excellent and goes much beyond minimum wage.

It is the ancient skills of the Viviers village that provide them joy. Their clothes are made to last and to become heirloom, collectible pieces that are passed down from generation to generation. As they believe in a multidisciplinary practise, they frequently cooperate with visual artists and performance artists.
