The premier international art market in West Africa, ART X Lagos, returns for its seventh iteration to honour the best contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora around the world. The Federal Palace on Victoria Island in Lagos will be the location of the fair's 2022 edition from November 4–6, 2022.

Through this year's theme, "Who Will Gather Under the Baobab Tree?" ART X Lagos, a venue for important dialogues and a catalyst for worldwide cultural exchange, will emphasize the special capacity of contemporary art to inspire, uplift, and empower in 2022. The 2022 edition of ART X Lagos will emphasize the potential of culture to speak to significant local and global issues while carefully considering the concerns now being experienced in Nigeria, Africa, and throughout the world.

The show's 31 participating galleries make this edition's fair the largest one to date for the international art fair. In response to this year's theme, it will also feature Special Projects that highlight the diversity of African contemporary art. Multidisciplinary artist Victor Ehikhamenor will present his visual and aural installation "Ulin-nóifo, The Lineage That Never Ends," Senegalese-Moroccan artist Linda Dounia will present her digital artificial intelligence installation "Once Upon A Garden," and Ranti Bam will present a performance project using her paintings and clay sculptures.

The fair's engaging panel discussion series, ART X Talks, will cover topics like creating equitable futures for Africans and people of African descent, among others. A standout will be a special conversation with British-Ghanaian photographer James Barnor, who has spent the last 60 years tackling postcolonialism and identity.

The Access ART X Prize, an annual award for emerging artists in Africa and the Diaspora, has opened entries for submissions by artists from Nigeria, Africa, and the Diaspora until November 6, 2022, the final day of the ART X Lagos fair, in keeping with its commitment to encourage early-career artists.
